- A closing two-under par 70 secured another victory for Kevin Dugas, of
Carman Creek, Fredericton, NB - this time it was his thirteenth
appearance in the winner’s circle at the CPGA Atlantic Zone
Championship. A total 69-70 for a 5-under par 139 gave Dugas a two shot
margin over Paul Bonenfant, of the Canadian Golf Academy, who closed
with a 69 for a two round total of 141.
The annual championship, sponsored by Titleist-Footjoy,
was played 26-27 July and attracted 53 professionals from across
Atlantic Canada to the challenging 7,000 yard, par 72 Lynx at Kingswood
course in Fredericton, NB.
In a third place tie, at even par 144, were Steve
Toombs from Mactaquac 69-75 and Shaun Murphy of Lakeside 73-71.
Tied at 147 for fifth were Scott Frizzell of Canadian
Golf Academy, Troy Howe of Fox Creek, John Lawson of Country Meadows and
Greg Sutherland of Truro.
Richard Dumeah of Osprey Ridge won low senior honors
with 79-76=155.

The CPGA Atlantic Zone Championship is the third event on the 2006 CPGA
