Blehr MacKinley Receives Tex Noble Award

- Blehr MacKinley was honored during the recent CPGA Atlantic Spring
Meeting and Atlantic Golf Symposium, held March 30-31 in Charlottetown.
MacKinley, who is Associate Professional at Seaview Golf & CC, North
Sydney, Nova Scotia, was presented with the Tex Noble Award for
recording the highest national mark on the Canadian PGA Class A
examination in 2005.
The award is presented annually to the person who earns the highest mark
on the accreditation exam, the final threshold in earning the coveted
CPGA Class ‘A’ Professional designation. MacKinley completed his exam
with an outstanding final mark of 99.3 %.
Blehr was honored with a framed certificate, a gift of $500 from
Simmlands Insurance, proud supporters of the award for many years, and a
framed Atlantic Canadian print .
Taking part in the presentations were Gordie Smith, President CPGA
Atlantic, John Simmonds of Simmlands Insurance, Lindon Garron, Vice
President Canadian PGA, and Steve Carroll, Executive Director Canadian
PGA
Tex Noble was a former Education Director with the Canadian PGA, who was
instrumental in the development and training of young golf
professionals.
The award has been presented annually since 1992.
