- Kevin Dugas and Mike Perry from Stonehurst Golf Center in Moncton, NB
took top professional team best ball honors at the Canjet Twin Rivers
Charity Classic, held 24-25 June, at the Terra Nova Golf Resort in Port
Blanford, Newfoundland.
Dugas and Perry recorded rounds of 67 – 65 for a ten under par total of
132 on the 6,545 yard, par 71 Twin Rivers course.
John Irwin of Summerside and Duane McGregor of Belvedere finished in
runner-up position three strokes back on rounds of 69-66.
Tied for third, at 138 were the teams of Tim McCullum of Kingswood and
Greg Sutherland of Truro and Derek MacKinnon and Jamie Brown of Ken-Wo.
Thirteen professional teams and twenty-five teams of amateurs competed
in the event.
A corporate pro-am was held on Friday 23 June and raised much needed
funds for K-Rock Children’s Trust Fund, that provides assistance to
families that are facing financial hardship due to the illness of a
child.
