(Antigonish, NS) October 14, 2007 - After five years of playing second fiddle to the youthful contingent of Atlantic golf professionals, the Old Guys finally hoisted the cup that has long eluded their grasp.

Steeled with renewed vigor and determination, the Old Guys arrived at the event more than ready for battle. They were not to be denied. When the dust had settled they had dealt their youthful counterparts a 20 to 4 thrashing.

The Old Guys got off to a fast start taking Saturday’s four-ball matches 5 - 1 and the foursome matches 5 – 1, for a lead of 10 - 2 after the first day of competition. In Sunday's singles matches, The Old Guys continued their dominance, winning ten of twelve matches, leaving the Young Guns in complete disarray.

The Elder's Cup is now the property of The Old Guys, along with bragging rights for the year.

The Elders Cup is contested in Ryder Cup style. Saturday morning matches are four ball, while the afternoon competition is foursomes. Twelve singles matches round things up on Sunday. The team event matches twelve CPGA Atlantic professionals 34 years and younger ( The Young Guns ) with an equal number of professionals, who are 35 years and older, ( The Old Guys ).

The annual competition was played in beautiful fall weather on 13 - 14 October at the well conditioned and always hospitable Antigonish Golf & CC, Antigonish, NS.

The Elder’s Cup is the season ending event on the CPGA Atlantic Tour.

Major sponsors of the Canadian PGA Atlantic Tour are: Wilson Sports, Acushnet Canada, American Express, Atlantic Silica, Fletcher Leisure Group, Callaway Canada, Golf Supply House, and Nearly New Golf Balls.
