- Kevin Dugas continued his outstanding play of this season with a
victory in the Callaway Cup, modified Stableford event, played at
Brightwood Golf & CC, Dartmouth, NS, on Wednesday 17 September. He was
also the overall winner of the Callaway Cup series, which is part of the
CPGA Atlantic Tour.
The modified Stableford competition saw Dugas, of the
Links at Montague, Dartmouth, collect 35 points, edging out Scott
Frizzell, also from the Links at Montague and Troy Howe of Fox Creek,
Dieppe, NB, who collected 33 points each. Sean Joyce of the Canadian
Golf Academy, Stratford, PEI finished in fourth spot with 32 points.
The modified Stableford system awarded 10 points for
double eagle, 5 for eagle, 3 for birdie, 2 for par, 1 for bogey and 0
for double bogey or worse.

Callaway Cup Stableford event:
The Callaway Cup is a three event series on of the
CPGA Atlantic Tour, sponsored by Callaway Canada. The first event was an
individual stroke play event at Abercrombie, New Glasgow, NS; the second
event was a Head Pro Assistant Pro team event at Amherst; and the
Stableford event at Brightwood completed the series. At each event
professionals received points, based on their placing, for the Callaway
Cup bonus purse at the end of the series.
Dugas, the overall series winner, received top bonus
money, along with a Callaway watch.
