- Trevor Giggey continued his winning ways on 27 July with a one shot
victory at the Callaway Cup Stroke Play, held at Riverside Country Club
in Rothesay, NB.
The Fox Meadow professional, from Stratford, PEI,
fashioned a one over par 73 in fog and drizzle to best the 27 man field
of CPGA Atlantic golf professionals at the wonderfully conditioned,
6,300 yard Riverside layout. Two weeks ago Giggey captured the CPGA
Atlantic Zone Championship at Oakfield.
Tied in second place were Michael Archibald of Amherst
Golf Club, Amherst, NS and Troy Howe of Moncton Golf Club, Riverview, NB
at 74.
In fourth place was John Irwin of Miscouche, PEI.
The Callaway Cup is a series of five one day events,
within the CPGA Atlantic Tour. The next Callaway Cup event is a
Stableford competition to be held at Brightwood Golf & CC, Dartmouth, NS
on 31 August.
