- Greg Sutherland and Jon Garron of Truro Golf Club, Truro, NS, recorded
a team best ball score of five under par 67 for a two shot victory at
the Callaway Cup Pro-Pro on Monday 22 June. Sutherland and Garron
recorded seven birdies, nine pars and two bogies to seal the win in the
second Callaway Cup event for 2009.
In second spot was the team of John Irwin, Unattached
and Duane McGregor, Belvedere with 69, including birdies on the last
four holes. Third place, with 70’s, was shared by the teams of Nick Frid
and Dallas Desjardins of Summerside Golf Club and Troy Howe, Moncton
Golf Club and Stu Musgrave, Unattached.
A field of twenty-one teams of Canadian PGA Atlantic
professionals contested the event in rain and drizzle conditions over
the challenging 6,480 yard, par 72, Green Gables Golf Club in Cavendish,
PEI.
The next Callaway Cup event will be at Riverside
Country Club, Rothesay, NB on Monday 27 July.
The next CPGA Atlantic Tour event will be the CPGA
Atlantic Zone Championship to be held at Oakfield Golf & CC, Grand Lake,
NS on 14-15-16 July.
