Bell Bay Golf Club
Spectacular views and great golf

The beautiful and historic village of Baddeck, Nova Scotia provides a remarkable setting for one of the Canada’s best golf courses. Sitting up above the Bras d’Or Lakes, Bell Bay offers a challenging and enjoyable day for golfers of all abilities along with incredible views from nearly every hole. The Thomas McBroom designed layout opened for play in 1997.

Complimenting the superb course is a finely stocked pro shop, golf academy and one of the largest practice facilities in Canada. To round out your day, stop by the charming clubhouse for excellent food, served by an accommodating staff, and more panoramic views of the Bay and the Bell Estate.

The course is a positive contributor to the economy of Baddeck, providing employment for about 50 residents and, by attracting thousands of golfers to the community each year, local businesses benefit. Many area accommodation operators have reported a major increase in their shoulder season traffic. Highly acknowledged during its brief history, Bell Bay was named “best new course in Canada” by Golf Digest magazine in 1998.

Why would you want to come to Bell Bay ?

“We provide phenomenal golf, from a playing surface and architectural standpoint,” remarks host head pro and general manager, Ted Stonehouse, “and we have the famous Cape Breton flavor and hospitality, ensuring the highest quality customer service.”

Under his leadership, Bell Bay has hosted numerous high profile tournaments that have prospered through key community partnerships. Some events held and planned for the future at Bell Bay include:

bullet 1998 Peter Gzowski Golf Tournament for Literacy
bullet 1998-99 Canadian Tour Bell Bay Matches
bullet 1999 CPGA Atlantic Assistants’ Championship
bullet 2000 – 2001 RCGA Future Links Atlantic Championship

bullet 2001 Wayne Gretzky and friends Invitational
bullet 2003 Al McGinnis Golf Classic – charity event for the Port Hood arena.

How do I get there ?
