Canadian PGA Atlantic Honors Award Winners
The Canadian PGA Atlantic Awards 2002 were recently presented in Fredericton,
N.B.
The awards reception recognizing excellence in the golf profession is held in
conjunction with the Association’s Annual Merchandise Show at the Fredericton
Inn.
Gerry Elliott, Canadian PGA Atlantic President presented the awards:
Sales Representative of the Year - Mike Rowan (Acushnet)
Patron of the Year - Jazz Golf
Merchandiser of the Year - Gordie Smith (Oakfield Country Club)
Assistant Professional of the Year - Greg Neate (Bell Bay)
Junior Leader of the Year - Gerry Elliott (Ken-Wo Country Club)
Teacher of the Year - Louis Melanson (Lakeside Golf Club)
Club Professional of the Year - Ted Stonehouse (Bell Bay)


An award for dedication and service to the Atlantic Zone, from 1989-2002, was
presented to outgoing past president Jerry Byers from Olde Town Golf Course

Awards were also presented to the Provincial Players of the Year:
PEI Player of the Year – Dave Bowlan of Avondale
New Brunswick Player of the Year –Kevin Dugas of Country Meadows
Nova Scotia and Atlantic Player of the Year – Stu Musgrave of Lingan

2002 Atlantic Zone Champions were recognized:
Atlantic Zone Champion – Kevin Dugas of Country Meadows
Atlantic Seniors’ Champion – Richard Dumeah of Osprey Ridge
Assistants’ Champion - Jason Snow of Hampton
