Tim McCullum Captures 27th Amherst Open

Tim McCullum, assistant professional at The Algonquin, in St.
Andrew's, NB put together two rounds of 70 to win the 27th Amherst Open by one
stroke over Gordie Smith.
McCullum's thirty-six hole 140 total was two under par over
the 6400 yard Amherst Golf Club layout.
Smith, head professional at the Oakfield Golf & CC, outside of
Halifax closed with a 68 to go with an opening round of 73.

Scott Frizzell of the Canadian Golf Academy and Stu Musgrave
from Lingan tied for third in the pro field with 144 totals.
John Mills of Northumberland defeated Mark Gould of Amherst in
a playoff for low amateur honors. Both were tied at the end of regulation play
at 149.
Jim Coates won the senior amateur title with 154.
