Musgrave Captures Second Tour Championship

(September 14, 2003) Stu Musgrave of Lingan has captured the Maritime Tour Championship for the second consecutive year. Musgrave fashioned a 68 in the final round to go with his opening 69 for a three-under par 137 total and a one shot victory over Gordie Smith of Oakfield. Smith fired a brilliant 66 on Sunday.

The closing event on the Maritime Pro-Am Tour, sponsored by Ganong and presented by Wilson Sports, was held at the 6300 yard, par 70 Moncton Golf & CC on 13-14 September

Chris Irwin of Fox Meadow, with a 67 in the final round, was tied in third place at 141 with amateurs Gary Carter of Amherst and Ken Comeau of the host club. Carter, a co-leader after the first round, closed with a 75, while Comeau shot 73. Carter took low amateur honors following a two hole playoff. Greg Jones, amateur at Country Meadows, was tied at 142 with professionals Troy Howe of Magnetic Hill and Marc Robichaud of Lakeside.
