Dugas Wins Nova Scotia Open
Mountain Golf & CC, Truro - July 23-24, 2005
Kevin Dugas of Clare Golf & CC captured the Nova Scotia Open,
presented by Fletcher Leisure Group Inc, with a two stroke victory over Dave
Bowlan of Avondale Golf Club.
In winning his second Atlantic Tour event of the season, Dugas fired rounds of
67 -69 for a six-under
par total of 136 on the par 71, 6163 yard Mountain Golf & CC course, just
outside of Truro, NS.
Previously, Dugas had won the Hampton Open, in June.
Bowlan recorded consistent rounds of 69- 69 for a 138 total.
First round leader Derek MacKinnon of Ken-Wo who shot the tournament's low round
of 65,on opening
day, finished with a 75 and a tie for third place with John Irwin at 140. Irwin
had rounds of 69-71.
Thirty eight professionals and a large amateur field competed in the event held
23-24 July.
The Nova Scotia Open is the fourth event on the CPGA Atlantic
