Dan Coulombe of the Fredericton Golf & CC successfully
defended his New Brunswick Open Championship crown, with a one shot victory over
Kevin Dugas and Darren Ritchie. at the Sussex Golf & CC 25-27 July. The
Fredericton amateur, and this year's New Brunswick Mid-Amateur Champ, fired
rounds of 69-71 for a 140 total over the 6,650 yard, par 72 layout. Dugas
recorded rounds of 69-72=141, while Darren Ritchie, an amateur from Hampton Golf
& CC, counted 71-70=141. Scott Frizzell, from the Canadian Golf Academy, was
second in the professional division following rounds of 70-75=145.
