Anne Chouinard

  1. Who introduced you to golf?
    My father introduced me to golf at the age of 4. I started hitting balls in the backyard with a club he cut down for me.
     

  2. Who was your mentor or Head Professional while you were growing up?
    My father Alfred and my brother Luc
     

  3. What is your work experience in golf?
    1980-1988 worked as proshop attendant during summers
    1988-1994 worked as an assistant professional at Alpin GC in Québec
    1995-1999 worked as Head Professional at Alpin G.C.
    1999-to this day: Head Professional at the Canadian Golf Academy PEI
     

  4. What is your current job position?
    Head Pro at the Canadian Golf Academy
     

  5. What is your playing experience in golf?
    2002: place 5th at the PEI Open (competing with a field of men)
    2001: place 3rd at the PEI Open (competing in the men’s division)
    1995: First place finish at the Du Maurier Series Event in Kelowna BC
    1995: First place finish on the Central Florida Challenge
    1994-1995-1996: Low head professional at the Canadian PGA Women’s Championship
    1986 Québec Amateur Champion
    1986-87 Québec provincial team member
     

  6. What is your most memorable golf moment?
    My win at the DuMaurier series in 1995
    Also, getting to the finals of tour school (1990)
    Finally, 4 holes in one
     

  7. What is your best asset as a Golf Professional?
    Dedication to excellence, being a good listener and a hard worker. With these 3 come a lot of others that are necessary to succeed in anything.
     

  8. What is your educational history?
    Baccalaureate and Master degree in Psychology
     

  9. What volunteer experiences do you have? Examples: charity clubs such as Rotary, Kinsmen etc, radio show contributions, school programs, career days, newspaper contributions etc.
    Many articles written for newspaper and presence at various radio shows. Doing kids golf clinics (with the Lorie Kane Charity golf tournament). Conferences at Rotary and other associations meetings.
     

  10. List any awards received.
    Québec teaching professional of the year (1996)
    Atlantic PGA teacher of the year (2002)
    Named teacher of the year by Score Magazine (2002)
     

  11. What is your most satisfying moment as a Golf Professional?
    When a student has success learning and applying what they learned.
     

  12. What do you see in the future both professionally and for the CPGA?
    Future of the CPGA: hopefully our association will attract true professionals who are in search of excellence not so much in their game but most of all in the services they offer and the knowledge they have about the whole industry of golf. This will continue to identify our association as the authority in golf in the eye of the golfing public. That last point is a key if we are to survive as a strong association.
    My future professionally: Keep doing the best I can to help people enjoy the great game of golf; continue to establish the Canadian Golf Academy as the number 1 school in the country and north America.
     

  13. What is your family situation and place of residence?
    I got married on October 11 2003 to Kent Hudson and we currently live in Stratford, PEI.
