Are we done already?

This season is already coming to an end.
The days are getting shorter and golf is a little less on our mind.
Think again! Fall and winter should be
your busiest time for golf. This is the time for major surgery on your
swing. It's hard for a player to make changes in the regular season
because he or she needs to perform at their best.
To start with you should have amassed
some stats from all your tournaments and regular rounds to get an average
on greens hit in regulations, fairways hit, putts etc. From there you can
make a game plan of what you need to work on during the fall and winter to
get ready for next season. The tour pros will start making changes now,
for next year. They need to be technique-free to feel comfortable during
the playing season.
Video taping your golf swing would be a
great asset to see where you need to improve, and you should take a few
lessons from your pro to help direct you on the right path.
During the winter, you don't need to hit
balls. You can just practice your swing in front of the mirror to see if
you have the right positions. For a swing change to occur it can take up
to a month until it is learned properly.
Winter is also a good time to work on
your body, especially to increase strength and flexibility. You can join a
gym or do workouts at home. Swinging a heavier club is a great idea to
build golf muscles.
Good luck and have a great winter. See
you next season.
